Textil Art. Natural Wool. Unframed, 51"x 62" / 130cm x 157cm

Eclipse captures a moment of quiet convergence—an emotional pause where opposing forces briefly align and transform one another. Flowing currents move across the surface with a sense of continuous motion, while circular forms emerge like fleeting presences, suggesting interruption without disruption.

The work holds a delicate tension between intensity and restraint, vibrancy and introspection. It invites the viewer into a state of stillness charged with subtle drama, evoking cycles of concealment and revelation. Eclipse becomes less an image and more an atmosphere—an intimate moment of alignment where time slows and perception gently shifts.

Designed by American-Argentinian artist Miguel Perez Lem and expertly handwoven on traditional pedal looms in Oaxaca, México; each textile emerges through a slow, deliberate dialogue between hand, body, and material—rooted in an intimate relationship with local resources and ancestral knowledge passed down through generations. Local wool is carded and spun, then infused with natural, organic dyes that echo the tones of the surrounding landscape. At the loom, the coordinated rhythm of feet and hands guides each thread into place, building the work line by line with patience and intention.

This process is not driven by speed or uniformity, but by presence. As a brushstroke is to the painter, the loom becomes the weaver’s canvas. Every variation, every subtle shift in color and tension, is a gesture—contributing to the textile’s emotional depth and transforming fiber into a living surface that holds time, memory, and the quiet wisdom of tradition.
